PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch mechanism that is made to perform opening operation by performing a two-stage operation of rotation and sliding or rotation and pivoting so that the latch lever may be suitably housed by setting the locus of the top end part of the latch lever at a low position. SOLUTION: The IC socket comprises a guide member on which an electronic component is mounted, a socket main body in which the guide member is installed, an operating member provided in free moving upward and downward with the socket main body, a latch mechanism which holds the electronic component mounted on the guide member, and a plurality of contacts connected to the electronic component. The latch mechanism has a latch lever that is made to perform the opening operation by performing a two-stage operation of rotation and sliding. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
