PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal rotary compressor capable of providing a high reliability by assuring the oil supply to the sliding parts of a compression mechanism. SOLUTION: An electric compressor body having a horizontally supported rotating shaft 12, the rotary compression mechanism part 13, and an electric motor part 14 is stored in a laterally long enclosed container for storing lubricating oil. The inside of the enclosed container is partitioned by a partition member 17 into an oil storage part space Sa in which the compression mechanism part is positioned and an electric motor side space Sb in which the electric motor part is positioned. An oil communication hole 19 is provided at the lower part of the partition member, a gas communication hole 20 is provided at the upper part thereof, and an oil feed passage 36 formed of a center hole 33, an oil guide hole 34, and an oil sucking tube 35 is formed in the rotating shaft. The lubricating oil in the oil storage part space is sucked by utilizing a pressure difference between the oil storage part space and the center hole, and fed to the sliding parts of the compression mechanism parts through the oil feed passage.
