PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent which exhibits high-level oil resistance and water resistance and high-level steam barrier properties suitable for a paper-made container such as a paper cup and a paper dish. SOLUTION: The coating agent for a paper-made container comprises an aqueous medium, and dispersed therein, an ammonia-neutralized product (A) of an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer, and a specific amount of a lithium-neutralized product (b1) of an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer, a sodium-neutralized product (b2) of an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer or a potassium-neutralized product (b3) of an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer.
