PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and precisely register to print for continuous papers. SOLUTION: The printer has a paper information setting part for setting a folding length related to the continuous paper 200, a preprinting repetitive unit and a printing start page; a transfer unit 102 for transferring the continuous paper 200; and a control part for calculating the number of pages from a leading end 200a of the continuous paper 200 to a printing starting position Pp on the basis of the folding length in relation to the continuous paper 200 initially transferred by the transfer unit 102, and the number of pages from the leading end 200a to the printing start page on the basis of the preprinting repetitive unit and the printing start page, and calculating a difference of both numbers of pages as a transfer amount for positioning at the printing starting position. The control part controls the transfer unit 102 to transfer the continuous paper 200 by the transfer amount for positioning at the printing starting position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
