PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to precisely and efficiently implement the cutting of inclined surfaces. SOLUTION: This represents a method for changing the shape of work by means of wire cutting so that the work has a slope surface. The method comprises: a standard slope formation process to manufacture a standard slope, which serves as the basis for cutting, in the circumference portions of the work; a process to incline wires based on the UV axes in accordance with the standard slope surface beforehand; an inclination adjustment process to bring the cutting-use wires closer to the standard slope in the XY axes, thereby generate discharge sparks, and adjust the inclination of cutting-use wires by moving, upward or downward in accordance with the generation status of discharge sparks, the Z axis linked to an upper guide, which supports the cutting-use wires and serves as the real point of their support (Steps 4 and 5); a memorization process to store upper/lower location coordinates for the Z axis adjusted in the inclination adjustment process (Step 6); and a cutting process to form the slope-included shape by inclining cutting wires in accordance with the location coordinates of the Z axis, stored in the memorization process, as well as coordinates of the UV axes.
