PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set and display a slide position with the image of a crank angle as in a mechanical press and to operate while the slide position and external peripheral equipment are synchronized. SOLUTION: In a servo press in which a slide (3) is driven by a servo motor (21), when setting data for the operation, a slide position is set by converting to a virtual crank angle. Also, the set virtual crank angle is displayed. The set virtual crank angle and the corresponding slide position are displayed. The slide position may be displayed by the set motion curve. In addition, the present slide position is displayed in a roulette display section at the corresponding virtual crank angle. Further, at the time of press operation, the present position of the slide is detected within one cycle from the upper limit position of a predetermined slide motion to the lower limit position and to the upper limit position, and then, a virtual rotary angle corresponding to the detected slide position is outputted to the external peripheral equipment.
