The present invention relates to a method of applying oral care benefit agent to the oral tissues. More specifically, a method for treating an oral cavity is provided comprising the application of an aqueous composition comprising oral care benefit agents to a large proportion of the oral cavity, application occurring as part of the daily oral care routine shortly before retiring, and the composition remaining in contact with the oral tissues while sleeping.
