The invention relates to a device for displaying image signals, which is provided with a playback unit for playing back image signals and with a viewing screen. The invention particularly relates to advertising displays such as large-image projection screens or an electronically controlled color projector, which are used in locations with large flows of people, e.g. train stations or airports. The aim of the invention is to create a device for controlling the display of images, which permits a multitude of viewers to control the display of images without the use of an additional remote control unit and without operating control keys on the display device itself. To this end, the invention provides the following features: a) a signal interface for receiving teletransmitted control signals from a portable, bi-directional communications unit (especially a mobile telephone or portable computer), which is carried along by a viewer, and: b) a control device for controlling the playback unit according to these control signals. In other words, the remote control of the advertising display or the remote inquiry of information assigned to the advertising presentation can be effected using mobile telephones, laptop computers, and palmtop computers that have a non-contact data interface (e.g. infrared interface). |
