<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for fuel cell, which can lower contact resistance with an electrode member, and can improve fuel cell output. <P>SOLUTION: The separator for fuel cell is made of amorphous carbon and has a plurality of recessed parts with a depth of 5-10 μm and a bottom area of 0.01-3 cm<SP>2</SP>formed on a surface making contact with the electrode member, where the percentage of the sum total bottom area of the recessed parts in the total area of the separator surface making contact with the electrode member is 5-90%. More preferably, in the separator, the recessed part has a depth of 10-80 μm and a bottom area of 1-3 cm<SP>2</SP>, the number of the recessed parts is 10-200 per 100 cm2, and the sum total area of the recessed parts occupies 20-80% of the total area of the separator surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
