PROCESSING METHOD FOR VOLUME DATA SET, COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT, AND COMPUTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for a volume data set allowing an extremely convenient navigation passing through the blood vessel.

SOLUTION: The volume data set shows at least the blood vessel 24 and its periphery 25. At first, an operation point 18 is determined in a range of the processing of the volume data set. Then, a computer finds a cross section including the operation point 18 and finds a partial surface surrounded with the blood vessel 24 included in each cross section for every cross section. The computer finds the cross section with the minimum partial surface and finds an operation cross section 19 based on the cross section.
