<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically extract a keyword with which a user searches for content, with efficiency and precision, from title information and detailed information about contents, such as EPG (electronic program guide) information, even in a household electric appliance without a large CPU throughput and memory capacity. <P>SOLUTION: First extracting means 19 use a first keyword dictionary registering character strings indicating subcategories to extract keywords from title information about contents.
