PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a knit-like cloth from being unevenly expanded and drawn when coating the knit-like cloth with a foamed emulsion resin. SOLUTION: The knit-like cloth 12 delivered from a supply 11 travels with an endless belt B orbiting so as to slide on the upper surface of a backup table 14 and made of a fiber having small elasticity. The foamed emulsion resin composition is fed to the traveling knit-like cloth 12, and coated thereon so as to form a desired thickness by a doctor knife 15a. A scraper 15b is arranged at the downstream side of the doctor knife 15a to open the cells by slicing the surface before the coated layer is heated and cross-linked. The resultant product is passed through a heating furnace 16 and a cooling furnace 17 in order to heat and cross-link the coated layer and to cool the cross-linked layer, and the finished cloth 20 for preventing down from coming off is wound on a takeup 18.
