PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interference model detecting method capable of reducing processing time required for checking interference by holding boundary box information of a part model and a face at a value with one coordinate system as a reference on a boundary box table. SOLUTION: According to the interference model detecting method, an interference condition between part models constituting a three-dimensional shape assembly model is detected. This method comprises a step (step S1) for obtaining boundary box information of a coordinate value with a common coordinate system as a reference in the three-dimensional shape assembly model, and storing the boundary box information on a table with respective to each part model of the three-dimensional shape assembly model which is an interference detecting object, a face constituting the part model, and a polygon constituting the face; and steps (steps S2 to S11) for detecting the interference between the part models by roughly checking the interference in the order of the part model, the face, and the polygon using the boundary box information.
