PICTURE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outline of an objective animal from a moving picture even if movement of the objective animal cannot be expressed by means of an Affine deformation process and even if a strong edge exists in background video. SOLUTION: The picture processing method for obtaining the outline of the objective animal from the moving picture is provided with: an initial outline generating step 101 for generating an initial outline of the objective animal; a tracking region setting step 102 for setting a plurality of regions for tracking movement of the outline in the initial outline of the objective animal; a tracking region movement estimating step 103 for estimating movement of the tracking region; and an outline deformation step 104 for deforming the outline based on estimated movement of the tracking region.
