PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which secures energy-saving with a simple constitution regardless of the surface state of a fixing member. SOLUTION: In a fixing device 11 provided with first and second fixing members 11 and 12 opposed to each other at the fixing position of a recording material carrying an unfixed toner image, one of the fixing members 11A is provided with: a heat recovering member 13 to recover the residual heat of the fixing member 11A after fixing by coming into contact with a heat source 12A to heat the fixing member 11A and the fixing member 11A; and a heat supply member 14 to supply the fixing member 11A with recovered heat before heating by the heat source 12A. The heat recovering member 13 and the heat supply member 14 individually come into contact with each other by corresponding to the surface state (13A) of the fixing member 11A. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
