<p>New compounds possessing antibacterial activity against Gram + and Gram - bacteria, and Spirilla and Trypanosoma in man and animals are of formula:- (where X = As or Sb directly linked to a carbon atom of radical R, R'; R and R' which can be lateral chains of penicillins, e.g. R may be -R1-(R2)n-(R3)m- and R' may be -R4-(R5)n-(R6)m-, where R1 and R4 are same or different 5 - 7 C alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, indolyl-alkyl, naphthyl, benzyl, thionyl or opt. substd. Ph; R2 and R5 are same or different O, S, imino, N-alkylimino or bivalent alkylene, arylene or alkenylene or R2 and R5 form the gp: R7 = 1 - 4 C alkyl or aryl; Y = O or S; R3 and R6 = same or different alkylene, alkylene, alkynylene, arylene - opt. substd. by halogen; n and m = 0 - 4 with the proviso that when R2 and/or R5 = O or S then n = 0 or 1).</p> |
