In a disposal process for waste material (2) also containing organic residues, the wastes pass through a fermentation reactor (4) and a solids separator (5) followed by heating. Ammonia surrendered in the heating process is especially captured as a solution and admixed to fresh incoming wastes (2). At the conclusion of the process, the residual liquid mixture containing nitrogen is stored in appropriate vessels for subsequent use as plant fertilizer (18). Also claimed is a commensurate assembly in which incoming wastes are chopped and shredded (3) prior to fermentation (4) and removal of solids (5). Sediments (8) and methane (9) are removed for further use e.g. generation of heat and electricity (13). Liquid drains from the solids separator (5), with removal of carbon dioxide (10), pH adjustment (11) and evaporation (12) to produce liquid fertilizer (18). |
