A tissue or organ regeneration material which can easily be placed in a necrotic area or defective space of a tissue or organ in a living body, while suppressing an excessive growth of fibroblasts, to thereby effectively regenerate an intended tissue or organ, and a method of regenerating a tissue or organ by using the above material. The tissue or organ regeneration material wherein fibroblasts shows substantially no growing property in a gel based on the hydrogel-forming polymer is constituted by using a hydrogel-forming polymer, an aqueous solution of which shows a thermo-reversible sol-gel transition such that it assumes a sol state at a lower temperature and assumes a gel state at a higher temperature.
