<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which alteration of a laser driver element can be dealt with readily and the lifetime of a laser can be prolonged by reducing an extra laser emission time, and to provide a method for controlling the operation mode, a program and a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus for forming an image on a sheet based on a latent image formed on a photosensitive drum 302 formed by irradiating it with laser light, a sequencer 102 transmits a mode signal for controlling the action mode of a laser driver 103 through conversion processing of a table 106. Furthermore, the sequencer 102 outputs the mode signal in correspondence with the transition state of the action mode of the laser driver 103 and controls the mode signal by rewriting the content stored on the table 106 under any one transition state of the action mode of the laser driver 103. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
