CDMA RECEIVER AND METHOD FOR ASSIGNING FINGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stabilized receiving performance by preventing the instantaneous interruption of a radio line occurring during soft handover communication.

SOLUTION: A delay profile generating section 102 correlates a receiving signal with a spread code informed from a control section 101 to generate a delay profile. A path detecting section 103 determines a peak phase point exceeding a specified threshold from each delay profile as a path. A finger managing section 104 assigns upper N paths having large correlation values to a finger for each linked cell. Furthermore, remaining fingers are assigned with paths exceeding finger thresholds except the upper N assigned paths preferentially from those having larger correlation values. A despreading section 105 despreads the receiving signal according to despread timing. An RAKE synthesizing section 106 performs the RAKE synthesization of despread results from the despreading section 105.
