PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube which is made to prevent surely with a simple structure, without affecting the original deflecting operation of the electron beam, the arising of the problem that deterioration of withstand voltage property and interference between the electrodes occur due to adhesion of foreign matters fallen from the inner tube member to the other electrode through the electron passage hole of the convergence cup. SOLUTION: In the color picture tube, an electron gun 19 provided in the neck 17 comprises a plurality of grids G1-G6 arranged from the cathode K toward the fluorescent screen 13 and a bottomed cylindrical convergence cup C is fitted at the end part on the fluorescent screen 13 side of the electron beams 18B, 18G, 18R emitting edge grid G6 with its bottom part 25 on the electron beams 18B, 18B, 18R emitting edge grid G6 side. The electron passage hole 32 of this convergence cup C is formed of an opening part 33 provided protrusively at its bottom part 25 and an projected part 34 in which the periphery of this opening part 33 is projected to the fluorescent screen 13 side and the opening diameter A on the fluorescent screen side 13 is made larger than the opening diameter B on the bottom part 25 side.
