PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay preventing operation failures due to inflow of a sealing compound. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic relay A comprises: a body 8 exposing a fixing contact 10a on the upper surface of a pair of side walls 8a, 8a; an electromagnetic block disposed on the body 8, having an armature 4 that is attached to and separated from a magnetic pole part at the tip of both leg pieces 1a, 1b, of a U-shaped iron core 1 according to the magnetization of a coil 2 wound around one leg piece 1a of the iron core 1 to perform see-saw operation; a moving spring 5 connected with the armature 4, having a moving contact 5a attaching to and separating from the fixed contact 10a, according to the see-saw operation of the armature 4; and a cover 11 for covering the body 8. The electromagnetic relay uses a sealing compound 12 injected in the lower surface of the body 8 to seal a gap between the cover 11 and the body 8 so that a stepping part 8b is formed at lower part of the fixed contact 10a and outer side of the side wall 8a, and when the cover 11 is used, a space part 14 defined by the side wall 8a and the cover 11 is formed between the stepping part 8b and the fixed contact 10a.
