PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for preventing a disk flaw. SOLUTION: The method for preventing the disk flaw due to an objective lens includes (b) a step for performing focus pull-in, (c) a step for controlling so that the objective lens moves away from the disk when a level of a pull-in signal continues for more than a specified critical time under a specified critical level. Thus, at the time of focus pull-in, by appropriately dealing with the fact that the objective lens approaches the disk by disturbance to damage the disk, the disk flaw can be prevented.
