AV PERFORMANCE TEST METHOD, MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE USING THE SAME, AND MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent defect in performance for handling of AV data by detecting performance required for using a magnetic disk to use AV data with arbitrary accuracy by using only information through a general purpose interface. SOLUTION: A magnetic disk device is provided with an AV data reading/writing means 4 reading and writing AV data through a general purpose interface 3 for a magnetic disk 2, an access time at the time of writing or reading for the magnetic disk 2 is measured, a position being not appropriate for reading and writing AV data on the magnetic disk 2 is detected with arbitrary accuracy by using only information through the general purpose interface by determining whether the access time can be permitted or not for reading and writing AV data as a system based on a statistical method. Also, detection accuracy of a performance defective position for handling AV data can be improved arbitrarily by increasing the number of times of measuring access time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
