PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which allows many threads to be formed thereon and is stably engaged and has a high fitting capacity and is superior in light shielding property and hardly brings about flare, ghost, or the like by stray light. SOLUTION: At the time of switching from movement in a spiral direction to movement in a circumferential direction, a fist top part 2a is brought into contact with a fifth top part 1c, and a male helicoid 2 is only rotationally moved to a female helicoid 1. At the time of switching from movement in the circumferential direction to movement in the spiral direction, a second top part 2b is brought into contact with a third top part 1a and the fifth top part 1c to perform switching to movement in the spiral direction.
