PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector which can improve cooling capacity by narrowing the gap between a liquid crystal panel and a deflecting plate. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal projector which projects light transmitted through the liquid crystal panel A and a projection-side deflecting plate C and also blows cooing air to between the liquid crystal and deflecting plate for cooling, a liquid crystal panel fitting frame 43 fitted with the liquid crystal panel A is arranged opposite the projection-side deflecting plate C at a specified interval, a cut part J is provided at a part of the liquid crystal panel fitting frame 43 as a wind channel on the windward side of the cooling air, and the opening between the liquid crystal fitting frame 43 and the deflecting plate C is widened to secure air channel width for the cooling air between the deflecting plate C and the liquid crystal panel fitting frame 43. Consequently, the speed of the cooling air increases as the gap between the liquid crystal panel and the deflecting plate is made narrow. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
