PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust bearing whereby a circulation flow occurring in an oil supply groove of a thrust pad is prevented, foreign matters such as dust can be effectively discharged, and thereby an oil film can be normally formed, and any damage on the bearing can be prevented. SOLUTION: The oil supply groove 11 along the radial direction is provided on the thrust pad 3 confronting a thrust collar 2, and a notch part 14 for preventing circulation flow to the rotational direction upstream side in the supply oil groove 11 for lubricating oil is provided on an upper end part 11a of the oil supply groove 11 on the rotational direction downstream side. Thereby, the lubricant oil smoothly flows to the upper end part of the oil supply groove 11 of the thrust pad 3 on the rotational direction downstream side without collision. The circulation flow in the oil supply groove 11 is prevented, and the foreign matters such as dust can be discharged to an outer peripheral side along the oil supply groove. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
