PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for profitably producing a (thiophene/phenylene)cooligomer. SOLUTION: This method for producing the (thiophene/phenylene)cooligomer represented by the general formula (2) [R is a 1 to 5C alkyl, a 2 to 5C alkenyl, H, or a halogen; (m) is an integer of 1 to 5; (n) is an integer of 1 to 5] is characterized by dimerizing an aromatic zinc compound represented by the general formula (1) (X is a halogen atom) in the presence of a palladium catalyst.
