PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized ozonizer capable of being easily assembled, manufactured at a low cost and capable of producing high concentration ozone under a pressure from a gaseous starting material. SOLUTION: In the method of producing ozone, a substantially rod like internal electrode 1 is arranged coaxially in an inside space part of an external electrode 2 formed by providing a metallic thin layer on the inside discharge surface of a ceramic dielectric having a substantially hollow cylindrical shape to be inserted to form a gap between the electrodes and ozone is produced by supplying the gaseous starting material containing oxygen and applying voltage between the electrodes. The internal electrodes 1 is formed into a male screw like shape by providing screw threads on the circumferential surface of the internal electrode 1. The gaseous starting material flowing from one side (gaseous oxygen inlet 4) of the internal electrode 1 toward another end side (ozone gas outlet 5) flows spirally along the screw threads of the internal electrode 1. In such a case, a brush like air cooling radiator 3 is preferably provided to remove the heat of reaction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
