<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which efficiently uses memory data areas, a cartridge, a memory mounted on the cartridge, and a memory control method. <P>SOLUTION: The memory has a first storage area for storing information relating to image formation as specific unit data, and a second storage area for storing it as bit unit data. A printer control section which controls writing/reading information relating to image formation into/from the memory exerts control in such a manner that the information relating to the image formation stored in the first storage area as the specific unit data is stored in the second storage area as the bit unit data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
