PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device excellent in safety and reliability and capable of immediately stopping needless driving when control abnormality occurs without using a thermostat and without requiring the leading-about of a power source line. SOLUTION: A coil 111 for generating high-frequency magnetic field is provided in a heating roller 101, and a resonance circuit is formed of the coil 111 and a capacitor 205. An input current to a high-frequency generation circuit having the resonance circuit is detected by a current detection circuit 210, and current-carrying of the high-frequency generation circuit is controlled according to the result of the detection and the presence or absence of an operation on-signal.
