PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a softener article which does not cause changes in appearance and a smell of a composition during preservation even in packing a softener having transparent appearance into a transparent container and does no emit an offensive smell even by treating clothing with the softener after preservation. SOLUTION: A transparent liquid softener composition comprising (a) 3-50 mass % of a compound containing one or more 12-36C hydrocarbon groups which may be divided by an amide group, an ester group and/or an ether group in the molecule and a tertiary amino group, its acid salt or quaternary ammonium group and (b) 3-40 mass % of an organic solvent having 0.5-3 logP is packed into the transparent container composed of a thermoplastic polyester containing a benzotriazole-based ultraviolet light absorber.
