PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing device that prevents a workpiece from being damaged in an pressing operation in the cases where the elevation unit rotates, if not descends, relative to the support column in reaction to a pressing force during the operation when a screw is loosened even slightly, causing a pressing rod to deviate from a set position, and in the case where the pressing operation becomes difficult thereafter in the deviation of the rod even if the pressing is somehow achieved, and often giving damage to the pressed workpiece. SOLUTION: In the pressing device, a column is erected on the rear part of the base, an elevation unit is fixed on the column in a vertically movable manner, and a pressing rod is arranged vertically movably on the elevation unit.
