INFORMATION PROVIDING SYSTEM BASED ON POSITION INFORMATION, INFORMATION PROVIDING DEVICE, AND INFORMATION ACQUISITION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to use an online coupon and advertisement effectively without forgetting them.

SOLUTION: A system connects an information acquisition device 1 and an information providing device 2 for communication via a portable telephone network 3 so that the information providing device 2 provides the information acquisition device 1 with coupon/advertisement information about one or more facilities. A current position of the information acquisition device 1 is detected by a navigation device 5, and coupon/advertisement information about facilities in or about the detected current position is presented to a user's portable telephone 4. When the user beside the information acquisition device 1 approaches facilities issuing coupon/advertisement information, the information providing device 2 can automatically present the user with the information on a coupon or the like of the facilities provided by the information acquisition device 1, to awake the user to the availability of the coupon or the like.
