<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen concentration sensor output compensation device which generates output with a high precision corresponding to oxygen concentration included in a gas without being affected by a flow rate of the gas flowing around the oxygen sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A sensor element which generates output corresponding to oxygen concentration in atmosphere, and an oxygen concentration sensor with a heater to heat the sensor element are located in an air intake passage. A flow rate of an intake gas is detected and estimated (step 100). A target temperature (target impedance) of the sensor element corresponding to the flow rate is set (step 102). The target temperature (target impedance) is set to cancel sensor output errors caused by the flow rate. In addition, a reference heater power W0 is set based on the flow rate (step 104). An electric power supplied to the heater is controlled by feedback control (impedance control) to reach the target temperature (target impedance). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
