MUFFLER STRUCTURE WITH CATALYST FOR MOTORCYCLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffler structure for an motorcycle with a catalyst supported on a ceramic porous three-dimensional assembly having improved manufacturing cost and durability, allowing easy mounting of the catalyst without significantly changing a conventional muffler structure and being inexpensive and suitable for the motorcycle.

SOLUTION: A baffle plate located at the front part of a cylindrical muffler is formed of a ceramic porous three-dimensional catalyst assembly produced by supporting the catalyst on the ceramic porous three-dimensional assembly. A front-part baffle pipe which has one end open to a silencing chamber on the most upstream side and the other end open to the other silencing chamber on the downstream side is inserted through the baffle plate consisting of the ceramic porous three-dimensional catalyst assembly.
