PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply making an internegative for platinum print or silver print from a desired image of color negative, color positive, color photograph, or the like. SOLUTION: Image data is generated from an objective image for making an internegative by means of a computer and the gray image of that image data is converted into a negative image. The negative image is then subjected to image processing for inverting left and right thus generating data for the internegative which is then outputted onto a transparent film by means of a printer. The data for the internegative includes such data as subjected to output mode conversion so that the output density of processed image data matches the output density of the printer.
