PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup element whose power consumption is small, and whose nose is small. SOLUTION: This solid-image pickup element is provided with a semiconductor substrate deciding a two-dimensional surface, a plurality of photoelectric converting elements arranged like a matrix across a plurality of lines and columns in the light receiving area of the semiconductor substrate, a signal processing means formed for each of the photoelectric converting elements for converting analog image information from at least the photoelectric converting element into digital image data, and a non-volatile memory formed corresponding to each column of the photoelectric converting elements in the post-stage of the signal processing means for recording the digital image data for at least one frame.
