PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorded data processor and a recorded data processing method capable of allocating an easily identifiable file name to recorded data whose contents are almost the same, and easily retrieving associated recorded data from among a large amount of recorded data, and making it easy to judge whether or not the recorded data are necessary, and efficiently using a recorded medium whose capacity is large. SOLUTION: Newly recorded data are compared with recorded data stored in a recording file attached with a specific file name in the past, and when the recorded data whose contents are almost the same are detected, it is judged that the header part of the file name managing the newly recorded data is the same as the record file attached with the specific file name in the past, and the file name attached with dates or version information is automatically allocated afterwards.
