PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel which can achieve a high luminance even when a luminous layer is made thin-filmed, has no luminescence unevenness and can beautifully display informations or the like. SOLUTION: In the plasma display panel 1 equipped with two substrates 10, 20 arranged in opposition with a prescribed space, a partition wall 30 provided between the substrates 10, 20 and dividing the space between the substrates into plural sections, discharge cell 31 formed by being surrounded with the partition wall 30 and the substrates 10, 20, and a fluorescent substance layer 35 covering a surface of the partition wall 30 facing the inside of the discharge cell 31 and one opposite face 31a, a thickness of the fluorescence substance layer is controlled to 5 to 20μm, and an average particle diameter of a fluorescence substance forming the fluorescence substance layer 35 is controlled to 0.02 to 1μm.
