PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load on operators by freely moving and fixing a foot pedal in step bend working. SOLUTION: In a bending machine provided with a foot pedal 9 for driving a ram 1, a roller member 14 rolling on the ground and moving the foot pedal 9 and fixing members 15 and 16 abutted on the ground and fixing the foot pedal 9 are provided at the lower part of the foot pedal 9 so that the members 14, 15 and 16 can be moved relatively in the vertical direction. When the roller member 14 is below the fixing members 15 and 16, the foot pedal 9 is movile, and when the fixing members 15 and 16 are located below the roller member 14, the foot pedal 9 is fixed.
