PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the degradation of nucleic acid, by which the nucleic acid degradation caused by a nucleic acid-degrading enzyme can surely be prevented, and to provide a method for extracting the nucleic acid, by which the nucleic acid can efficiently be extracted, while preventing the nucleic acid degradation caused by the nucleic acid-degrading enzyme. SOLUTION: This method for preventing the degradation of the nucleic acid is characterized by having a process for cleaving a disulfide bond site in at least a nucleic acid-degrading enzyme to form the sulfohydryl group and a process for selectively modifying the sulfohydryl group.
