摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor stereoscopic display device having an expanded color gamut. <P>SOLUTION: An autostereoscopic image forming system 10 practically has monocentric optical components arranged for left and right intermediate images respectively. A virtual image is electronically generated by an image generation system 70 having four or more color light sources and is projected as a real intermediate image near a focal surface 22 of a curved mirror 24 by a scanning ball lens assembly 100. A monocentric arrangement of optical components forms images of left and right scanning ball lens pupils at corresponding left and eight viewing pupils 14 of an observer 12 and essentially provides a single center to curvature for projection components. When such the monocentric arrangement is used together with an original pixel line 36 being a linear image source and scanning ball lens assemblies 100, a very wide field of view is made available with large viewing pupils 14.
