<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow changing the driving speed of each part in relation to a driving controller for a printer corresponding to a driving condition. <P>SOLUTION: The driving controller for a printer is provided with a first ink roller group 30 integrally rotating with a plate cylinder 20, and second ink rollers 26, 28, 32 operating in a manner different from the first ink roller group 30, as the roller constituting a printing unit. In the driving system, the second ink rollers 26, 28, 32 are driven mechanically independently from the first ink roller group 30 by the driving means 2, 3. When first ink roller group 30 has a plurality of driving modes, the driving speed of the second ink rollers 26, 28, 32 is, in selecting a printing mode, set to the following speed obtained by converting the rotation speed of the first ink roller group 30 by a prescribed speed following function.
