PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition excellent in gas barrier properties and/or flavor retention, and scarcely polluting a mold during molding. SOLUTION: The polyester composition comprising 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester and 0.01-100 pts.wt. of a polyamide containing m-xylylene group, characteristically contains≤0.9 wt.%. of a cyclic amide monomer containing the m-xylylene group in the polyamide containing m-xylylene group.
