PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an image quality decrease due to residual vibrations in the case where a plurality of different drops are jetted in one printing cycle. SOLUTION: A driving waveform Pv including driving pulses P1, P2 and P3 for jetting large drops, middle drops and small drops in one printing cycle is outputted from a driving waveform generating circuit 77. Driving pulses P1, P2 and P3 are selected from the driving waveform Pv and applied to a piezoelectric element 52, so that small drops are jetted last in one printing cycle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
