PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for replacing a cylinder of a slide table in an existing lathe with a drive control device for numerical control so as to effectively utilize the existing lathe without newly purchasing numerical control lathe, and also to provide the drive control device. SOLUTION: This drive control device A is provided with: a ball screw 2 connected to the slide table 20 under a condition that the casing main body 1 is inserted in the insertion hole of the support member 41a; a servo motor 3 feed-driving the slide table 20 connected to the ball screw 2 in an axial direction of the ball screw 2 by giving the ball screw 2 rotational motion; and a transmission member 4 transmitting rotational motion of a rotating shaft of the servo motor 3 to the ball screw 2, in a casing main body 1 provided with a shape which can be inserted in an insertion hole of a support member 41a of the lathe B.
