PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency in maintenance of equipment by allowing a maintenance worker, who is aquanted with technical contents regarding the equipment to be maintained but is not well aware of keywords of a maintenance manual, to effectively use the maintenance manual. SOLUTION: A keyword input support processing part 104 specifies the keywords to be maintained on the basis of a keyword table 106b which stores the identification of an area to be maintained on the maintenance manual or a plurality of images representing a phenomenon relating to the above area and/or narrowed data 106a linking with an item list and each part of the image located at the end of the link of the narrowed data 106a or each item of the item list in association with the keywords, respectively. A retrieval processing part 105 retrieves maintenance data corresponding to a retrieved keyword from maintenance manual data 106c. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
