A method and equipment for mounting a part capable of surely detecting the non-suction of the part by a nozzle when the part is taken out and the carrying-back of the part by the nozzle when the part is mounted, wherein, when the part is taken out, an arrived vacuum pressure after the part is sucked by the nozzle (25) is temporarily reset to zero and the lowered amount of the pressure of the nozzle (25) is detected in reference to zero after the reset, when the detected lowered amount exceeds a specified threshold, the nozzle not sucking the part is determined to be present, the nozzle (25) not sucking the part is specified by a part recognition part (37), when the part is mounted, the delivered air flow flowing through the nozzle (25) is measured immediately after the mounting operation and, when the measured flow is smaller than a specified threshold, the nozzle (25) is determined to carry back the part (30), two thresholds are provided and, when the measured flow is larger than these both thresholds, the part can be determined to be mounted normally, when between these both thresholds, a filter (22) can be determined to be clogged, and when smaller than these both thresholds, the part can be determined to be carried back by the nozzle (25).
