<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive modulating and coding method which comprises a step of selecting one of a plurality of different available modulation and coding levels applied to a signal transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver. <P>SOLUTION: The adaptive modulation and coding method comprises a step of selecting one of the plurality of different and available modulation and coding levels applied to the signal transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver, and the selection is composed of: a step of performing the selection based upon the comparison between a signal transmission quality and a threshold; and a step of adjusting the threshold when the signal transmission quality is within a predetermined range including the threshold, and maintaining the threshold unchanged when the signal transmission quality is outside the range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
